Bannock Brae Crawford's Block Pinot Noir 2019

$59.00
Each

The palate is much more powerful than the lovely nose suggests with silky tannins and ripe red fruit with acidity that gives the wine a long and fresh finish. This wine has a presence that tells of a place and a season. Understated at first, it continues to open up and seduce as each layer unfolds.

Deep dark cherry and blackberry aromas lifted by violets and a hint of vanilla. Textural, with earth and leathery notes and a touch of spice.

Vineyard & Winemaking

The Bannock Brae Pinot Noir is grown in Bannockburn, Central Otago gravels and sand derived from Schist.

Handpicked fruit is gently destemmed to small format open top fermenters. 15% of the fruit was retained as whole bunches to elevate spice and floral notes. Matured in 30% new fine grain French oak barriques for 18 months, unfined and unfiltered. Minimal intervention
