Farm Fresh Direct: Can you tell us a bit about your farm and how it got started

John: Sure, my parents started this farm over thirty years ago. They were passionate about organic farming and sustainable agriculture, and they wanted to create a business that reflected those values. I grew up on this farm, so I've been involved in farming my whole life.

Farm Fresh Direct: That's amazing. What inspired you to continue the family business?

John: I went to university and studied agriculture and ecology, and I came back to the farm with all these ideas about how we could improve our operation. I was excited to apply what I had learned and make the farm even more efficient and sustainable. Plus, I had a deep love and respect for the land and the environment, and I wanted to carry on my parents' legacy.

Farm Fresh Direct: Can you tell us about some of the changes you made to the farm?

John: We implemented new techniques and technologies to make the farm more environmentally friendly and efficient. For example, we started using drip irrigation to conserve water, and we switched to no-till farming to reduce soil erosion. We also started using cover crops to improve soil fertility, and we invested in renewable energy sources to power the farm.

Farm Fresh Direct: That's really impressive. How did you get into serving organic food?

John: I wanted to do more with our farm's fresh vegetables, and I was passionate about healthy eating and sustainable living. So, I opened a small cafe on the farm where we served organic meals made with our own produce. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and we quickly became a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.

John: We're committed to using only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients, and we're passionate about sustainability and environmentalism. Our customers know that when they eat at our cafe, they're getting food that's not only delicious, but also healthy and good for the planet.

Farm Fresh Direct: What has been the most rewarding aspect of running your farm and cafe?

John: For me, it's been seeing the impact that we're having on our community and the environment. We're providing people with healthy, delicious food, and we're doing it in a way that's sustainable and responsible. It's also incredibly rewarding to see my children take over the family business and continue the legacy that my parents started.

Farm Fresh Direct: What advice would you give to others who want to start an organic farm or restaurant?

John: I would say to be patient and persistent. Organic farming can be challenging, but it's also incredibly rewarding. And when it comes to running a restaurant, it's important to be passionate about what you're serving and to make sure that your values are reflected in your business. And of course, always be willing to learn and adapt to new ideas and technologies.
