  1. How does Farm Fresh Direct work?

    Farm Fresh Direct is a NZ based multi-vendor platform that follows a drop-shipping model. Vendors list their products with us, and when customers place orders, we purchase directly from you using the discount code you provide. You fulfill the orders, and we take care of the rest.

  2. What is the commission/margin structure?

    We operate on an 8% margin. Vendors provide us with a discount code to use while placing orders, and this margin is our only earning.

  3. Who handles shipping?

    Vendors dispatch orders directly to customers. In cases where an order includes products from multiple vendors, we manage those shipments separately. Neither our customers nor our Vendors need to worry about covering multiple shipping costs.

  4. Do I need to set a minimum order quantity?

    No. Like any standard e-commerce platform, Farm Fresh Direct does not allow vendors to set minimum order quantities or purchase amounts.

  5. How do I get paid?

    Customers pay Farm Fresh Direct at checkout. We then place the order on your store/website using the discount code provided. Effectively, you receive payment as if it were a direct customer order.

  6. Who are the customers of Farm Fresh Direct?

    Our target audience is anyone across New Zealand who values convenience over cost. We attract individuals and families who prefer the ease of online shopping for fresh and specialty products.

  7. How long does vendor signup take?

    Once we receive your registration details and discount code, setup is quick. Your products can be live on our platform within a few working days.

  8. What happens with shipping fees?

    Shipping fees are collected at checkout from customers. If there’s a difference between what customers pay and the vendor’s shipping cost, Farm Fresh Direct covers it.

  9. Are there any upfront costs or listing fees?

    No. Joining Farm Fresh Direct as a vendor is free. Our only revenue is the 8% margin applied via the discount code.

  10. How will I know how my products are performing?

    We can provide you with sales reports on request so you can track product performance, bestsellers, and customer trends.

  11. What type of products can I list?

    We started with fresh produce, specialty items, and products aligned with our focus on quality food and groceries but now we have expanded for so many other products as well. If you’re unsure whether your products are suitable, feel free to reach out.

  12. How does shipping work?

    Shipping is managed through our own shipping matrix. Customers pay for shipping at checkout, and you simply charge your normal shipping rate when fulfilling the order.

  13. What if a customer orders products from more than one supplier?

    In cases where a single order involves products from multiple vendors, Farm Fresh Direct covers the cost of the additional shipments. Vendors only ship their own items — we manage the logistics and absorb the shipping differences.

  14. Can I sign up for a limited time?

    Yes, absolutely. If you decide to discontinue, we will remove your products from our website immediately upon request.

  15. How quickly can I start selling after signup?

    Once we receive your vendor details and discount code, your store can be live on our platform within just a few working days.

  16. Is it possible for the vendor to have a minimum order amount?

    Like any other e-commerce website, we follow the same approach on our platform. Therefore, there is no minimum order restriction on our website.

  17. There could be cases if the customer directly buys from the supplier and they have a quite generous shipping rate unlike Farm Fresh Direct who is charging pretty much the full cost of courier freight, due to FFD uses a different courier service than the supplier uses. So, how does FFDs shipping work? Does FFD collect the difference in shipping fees?

    Yes, There are times when our courier charges differ from what suppliers charge directly to their customers. Farm Fresh Direct collects any difference in shipping fees, whether that means paying more, paying less, or sometimes breaking even. All fluctuations are managed by us — vendors are unaffected.

  18. What if I only ship once per week?

    That’s completely fine. Many vendors choose to ship one day per week to streamline their operations and reduce issues with perishables. Based on our experience, customers have been patient with this approach as long as expectations are clear. We maintain consistent email communication with customers to keep them informed.

  19. How do payments work?

    Customers pay Farm Fresh Direct at checkout. We then place the order with you using the discount code you provided. You receive payment exactly as if it were a direct order from a customer.
