Golden F1 Papaya

We are so excited to bring you the new variety of magnificent Golden F1 Papaya, and it’s exclusive to Exotica!! These were selectively bred for its special features (non GMO) that is:

- Non astringent
- Long golden flesh fruit to 3kg
- Small cavity with more flesh
- Sweet and mild papaya smell
- Super Dwarf and Hermaphrodite 
- Max mature height in the ground is 1.5m, less in a pot
- Bear fruit early and prolific. With consistent heat fruit all year long

Disclaimer: We highly recommend the young plant stays in a greenhouse or under covered area through winter.  

Plant Care

• Soil: Requires well-drained, loamy soil with a pH of 5.5 to 7.0.
• Watering: Keep soil consistently moist; avoid waterlogging.
• Temperature: Best between 21°C and 33°C. Frost-sensitive.
• Light: Needs full sun.
• Fertilising: Use a higher phosphorus fertiliser (15-30-15) to encourage flowering and fruiting.
• Pruning: Little pruning required; remove diseased or dead plant material to keep the tree healthy.
• Mulching: Mulch to retain moisture and control soil temperature.
• Pest Control: Watch for pests such as aphids, whiteflies, and the papaya fruit fly. Use eco-friendly pesticides or introduce natural predators.
• Flowering and Fruiting: Flowers appear throughout the year; fruits usually ripen 3 to 5 months after flowering.
• Potting: Suitable for large containers with adequate drainage, though ground planting is recommended for best growth.
• Feeding Regime: Apply a balanced fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season. During fruit development, switch to a potassium-rich formula to enhance fruit quality.
