PUHI is our new range of natural skin-care from Manawa Honey NZ. PUHI means ‘adored one’, even ‘indulged’, in te reo Māori. The logo is the striking moko kauae (chin tattoo), borne by Maori women. Our kaupapa (intent) then is to adore – totally indulge – those who join up using our natural and healing skin-care designed with New Zealand indigenous honeys and botanicals. This package of our balm and soaps is offered to introduce our new range of skincare from PUHI. No chemicals, parabens or other nasty additives are used. Only pure and natural ingredients as listed below are used in the handcrafting of these products (see the separate item for the details of contents for each item). Mānuka MG250+ Honey: Mānuka is a shrub, native to New Zealand, which our ancestors traditionally used for medicinal purposes, from healing wounds to fighting infection. The honey from Mānuka is now world-famous for having antibiotic, antioxidant, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and even anti-fungal properties. Our Mānuka MG250+ Honey is used is to bring all these benefits to care for and improve your skin. Mānuka Essential Oil contains antioxidants that help to protect the skin from the harmful action of free radicals, and has great antibiotic properties. So, Mānuka Oil helps to prevent and to fight infection and promotes anti-aging and overall skin health. Goat’s Milk contains precious skin minerals like selenium and is loaded with vitamins, particularly vitamin A, which is the most important vitamin for the skin. Goat’s milk contains lactic acid, which is both an anti-aging wonder and a lifesaver for dry and sensitive skin. Beeswax is also known to heal and softens skin, and is an antibacterial agent. It can help fight conditions like acne, dry skin, eczema and stretch marks. Grapeseed Oil is known to make the skin softer and more elastic – a great carrier oil for our balm. Olive Oil is known to prevent premature signs of aging and acts as an antioxidant, to reduce the occurrence of damaging, free radicals on the skin. Coconut Oil hydrates the skin for up to 24 hours and helps to improve skin elasticity and collagen production. Coconut oil has anti-oxidants such as Vitamin E and Vitamin A, which give it anti-aging properties. Lard is so similar to our own skin oils, it’s a match made in heaven.
